As an attorney I have the opportunity to engage people in uncommon conversations. One of my favorites is the question, “What holidays do you celebrate?” I ask this question typically in the Family Law areas of my practice and most often when dealing with holiday placement of children. It’s a question that most everyone I ask seems to think the answer is obvious, but people tend to change their minds when I start asking the follow-up questions. Questions like “Do you really celebrate Easter?” “Do you go out of town on Labor Day?” “Does your family really get into St. Patrick’s Day?” “Do you do something special on Veterans Day?”
Remembering those in the military
I bring this up because we are nearing a holiday that is often overlooked and taken for granted: Memorial Day. For some, this holiday is the unofficial start to summer. It’s a time to open cottages or fire up the grill for family and neighbors. Ultimately, it is a day reserved to remember those who served our military and died protecting our country and our way of life. After all, freedom isn’t free.
Free offer to veterans
At Shanley Law LLC we celebrate this holiday with a special offer to veterans. Beginning Friday, May 24, 2019, and continuing through June 2019 veterans can receive a Last Will and Testament for free. This is a $350.00 value. Veterans and their families also have the option to purchase one of our comprehensive Estate Planning Package with $350.00 off the usual price. This is our third year extending this offer to the veteran community, and we are excited to see more individuals take part every year.
