Everyone Needs a Plan
A good estate plan reflects your life and mirrors the values you live out every day. In short, estate planning is for everyone, not just the wealthy, the aging, or the ill. Establishing a plan may be the most important step you can take to protect your family. Without a plan you will find yourself at the mercy of the courts and laws already put in place. A well-designed estate plan provides for loved ones, including minor children and aging parents, provides for incapacity, avoids probate at death, reduces or eliminates estate taxes, and provides for charitable organizations.
I meet with individuals and families to review their long term goals and concerns. We then toegether form a plan on how to address these concerns and accomplish the clients’ goals. This plan will include key legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and marital property agreements. Once their estate plan is in place, my clients enjoy peace of mind knowing they have provided for themselves and their loved ones if an unexpected crisis occurs. As goals and circumstances change, my clients are confident knowing they have a solid foundation to build on.
An Approachable Process
There are countless reasons people use to put off the estate planning process. It’s too expensive. It takes too much time. There are other things that you and your family need to take care of first. These are natural impediments to avoid thinking about uncomfortable questions. At Shanley Law LLC, we try to take the fear out of this process to help you form the best plan possible. We do this with three basic steps. The first step is to offer a free initial consultation to begin the attorney client relationship and outline the possible legal solutions. The second step is offering our basic estate plans at an affordable flat rate, to help remove the fear of hidden costs. The third step is outlining the entire estate planning process, so you can know what steps will be taken next.
